To drag up an old post again....
Progress has slowed somewhat - arrival of mini-Feltwell No.3 back in January, not surprisingly, gave me little chance to do anything for a while (Robgil take note!). However, the doors are now on, so I at least have a secure shell in which to put all my tools, motorbikes and junk.
Doors need another coat of stain to even the colour out, and eventually the galvanised hinges will get painted black - which I think will make them look better than they do now.
Those doors are seriously heavy - at nearly 8' tall, they are about at the limit of what I can lift on my own. After a couple of days of lifting those on and off the hinges to keep trimming them I ached like hell.
And the windows have glass!

Looks really good FW - I especially like the windows, and the doors look very imposing. Well done.

Nice to see a progress update Feltwell; that's one serious garage. And I quite agree with FW about priorities - baby will be quite happy in a spare chest drawer for a year or so, which should give you plenty of time to get those finishing touches completed. :wink:
One question though; what was the decision process regarding the brick choice? The side and rear brickwork looks different to the front.

Why? The garage looks perfectly adequate to house a baby Feltwell. And think of the peaceful nights you'd get. It's the perfect arrangement.Feltwell said:

Here are the mini-Feltwell clan - with young Billy just 6 hours old. Apologies for the photo being a bit fuzzy, no flash allowed at that age - didn't want to hurt his eyes.
And he's growing quick - here at 3 months old with big brother who, despite appearances, isn't trying to eat him!
Penners, speaking of pictures of finished projects - we've yet to see any pictures of young Eggwood - is the chap shy?

I'd never even noticed that. Can you get ones with a nice old timber frame house on do you think?
At times, that could be a tempting offer. Here's a more normal reaction from my very loveable but very cheeky 6-going-on-16 year old daughter, when asked to pose for the camera in her new school dress:-

Thought for the day :- Celebrate small victories, for they are still victories even if they are small.
I got the Building regs signed off today at an inspection, so whilst the garage is still ( ) not finished it is at least the end of it's involvement with officaldom.
At this rate I'll get it finished completely once the kids above are at university.
