I would recommend that no one buys lumber from one of the high street outfits like Wickes or B&Q unless they intend to critically examine every piece. If anyone offers you a plastic wrapped multi-pack, run away - much of it wouldn't be fit for firewood.
Cole - once the new mouldings arrive its best to unpack them from whatever material has been used for the purpose and store the exposed timber in or near the rooms in which it will be used for a week or so if you can. Under no circumstances should it be stored vertically in any environment, particularly a new one in which it must acclimate - it can warp dramatically. Best to lay the moulding flat on their backs on a continuous surface. Also, keep an eye on them to watch for any sign of bending or curling, caught early enough a few strategically placed weights can limit and even stop this.
