How would you improve the look of this house?

Mocking up the area in picture form for the different options would be a great thing to do, if I can get some free photo editing software!

I used to work with a chap whose sideline, to his respectable day job, was designing & installing bespoke "dungeons", for those who are consenting & into such things. People spent a fortune on them - £20k easily. After some of the stuff he used to come out with, a Google link on gimp masks will be tame I'm sure! :lol:

It's only a little bit. We are allowed to visit other people in their houses now. Chances of getting work slightly better. Lockdown isn't over by a long way. While I was delighted to give up my job and have no income for a year it's starting to wear thin.

I do love Photoshop but GIMP is finally getting its feature set to a point where for most tasks it is Photoshop's equal. However there are some things that photoshop does better when it comes to blending and colour adjustment. For example, it took me 10 minutes to turn Derek Jacoby from Gladiator into a remarkable resemblance to a well known public figure - another 10 minutes of playing and I could make those joins invisible

And before everyone gets all political - none of that here, it's just a bit of a laff

Thanks for the ideas about this house. I asked because I am considering buying it but I find the extension pretty ugly and I don't think I could live with it for the long term. Today I went round to a mate's who has photoshop and he and I had a play and I think this is the best arrangement we came up with that might be workable, ie just a facade, no real structural alterations.

Looks very good. I suspect it would be worth considering taking the facade down and rebuilding it rather than try to alter what is already there in order to achieve that.

I was wondering if brick slips might work. They would have to be specials but surely cheaper and easier than a total facade rebuild?

Good point. Much easier to do if it's a modern cavity extension, which I presume it is - no need to worry about breathability.

Get as mentioned before a pair of side hung wooden garage doors and cover the bricks with brick slips. There are lots of brick slips around should not be too hard to get a good match.
