Tread carefully Joce. I'm not familiar with the specifics of your situation and land, but we did take legal advice related to our own access way and a neighbor seeking to park on it.
In general terms, if the land is his and you have a right of way, this entitles you to pass over it on foot or in vehicles (type and size unspecified). The neighbor has to maintain the access way, but has no obligation to maintain the width, current surface etc.
From what you have said, this is his land and he is not encroaching on boundaries. That the access way has been in different use under the previous owner is unfortunate, but I would have expected the conveyance to have highlighted any claims.
Strictly speaking, RoW does not entitle you to park for loading and unloading.....so you will most likely be relying on goodwill. That's not a major problem...since I can't see why the neighbor would want to deny you the chance of parking. The only things I can see causing problems are if you block the access way or if the heavily loaded Amazon lorries start churning up the surface.
