At least they are listed, which many which should be listed in that area (as in other areas of course, and my home included, but around Sudbury there seems to many that got away) aren't.

Wife just called - stuck on A14 behind and you guessed it A BROKEN DOWN LATVIAN LORRY.

Also the fairly good supply of building plots gets people moving into the area especially Wisbeach or soham areas (not my first choice but each to their own). Good value housing is still around in these parts and this is great for young people who can only get 100 grand loans - try that in Essex you can only get a studio flat for that.

Thats more a Norfolk inflection, Which is a nice county, Im on the very edge of Suffolk Nr the start (source) of the stour, its very rural and thats how I wish it to stay, so to Phil and Kirsty desiples I say Bu**er off with your so**ing relocation relocation or you'll see the sharp siude of muiy picthfork.

I believe the Stour rises near West Wratting doesn't it? So if you're in Suffolk you must be a few miles down it - somewhere near Haverhill perhaps?

The Stour source starts near Great Bradley on the way to Haverhill, beautiful rolling countryside, lots of footpaths, add nice country Pubs. Yes I do like GK

Godmanchester is another option - just north of Hemmingfords. Grade II Listed for sale on West St with thomas Morris for £350,000, but know as it has been on market for a whil eit will go for less. Didn't recah auction reserve recently with Cheffins at £325,000, so could be a reasonable amount of room to barter.

Address is 45 West St. They have various planning & LBC's for renovation .....

The LA thinks that the house should be residential, the barn and chapel could be given commercial use, or ancillary to the farmhouse, but it's unlikely that anything with more than minimal intervention will be given permission on those two.

There are others in the area in Heaps of Delight too which look eminently SAVE able...

Try Lawshall Hall Lawshall, listed II*... a definite heap, but coule become a delight...

Yes, of course the bridge that everyone knows about is the one pictured below, crossing the Ouse between Huntingdon and Godmanchester. You can't see it like this anymore because someone built a footbridge in front of it, rather hiding the medieval stone.

The other 'Godmanchester Bridge' is a short walk south, actually withing Godmanchester. The main road goes over it but unless you scramble down a nettlely bank you'd miss it. There's not much to see from the road. It is a medieval causeway, extensively rebuilt in the 1980s, across the marsh leading to the famous bridge.

Ah yes! I'd forgotten about that one - it cuts across Westside Common - where one of our neighbours still has grazing rights!
