Ouch :shock: Our quote for £5,700 is for less ridge length so maybe similar per foot. By the time it's done next autumn it will be 12 years old. The price does include a full refurb / repair of the main thatch and rewire as well.

Yes, just think how much we could save if we were into DIY.
And we have plenty of grass. That's the same as straw, right? So if I just stop mowing it every week, we'll be all set by autumn.
