Yes, little Billy has started out no doubt as he means to go on - the interest may waver for a while, but it will then no doubt return, not for his mother, and stay with him for life! I too am 37 and have the same affliction!
Found a novel way to stop him crying tonight. I was using a cordless drill - he likes the noise, it certainly seemed to stop him crying. My daughter liked the sound of the washing machine when she was a baby - I'm not trying to imprint gender stereotypes on them, I promise!
