Maybe when it comes time to sell a house with wooden windows, doors etc, would it be a good idea to prepare a folder with any articles, leaflets etc about how good they are, how easy to maintain and how to look after them and any other items of interest (eg newspaper cuttings, printed web pages, SPAB leaflets etc) backing up what we all know, to help them understand why they haven't been replaced with plastic!

Just an idea that popped into my head at 5 o'clock this morning!

That is the problem Rog and Gina, two dirty words in your post I.m afraid which have no simpathy with some people, " maintain" and "look after".

I heard on the radio this week that by 2016 70% of the CO emissions in this coutnry are going to be from the aviation industry. I assume that this is not because domestic and industrial emissions are going to drop dramatically over this time period.

All very depressing really - so basically, not much point worry over a single or double glazed window in terms of the environment other than coast savings to yourself - not that the regulations will see it like that.

Might as well by a nice think pair of curtains - then you will have something pretty to look at day and night.

God, I am off to buy a life jacket!

What a good idea. It may serve to increase some buyers personal interest in the house too. Some have quite interesting histories - and some histories probably better not told.
