Be sure to tell them that we put it on more like 15mm thick in most places, and we used wire wool to take off the gunk left after the main peeling away of the Klingstrip (gently, mind, so as not to damage the wood). We used a gazillion kitchen scourers along with the washvac - the
Klingstrip quite often just makes the paint a bit jelly-ish, not actually removing it, but allowing it to then be removed with LOTS of washing - again and again and again.
Afterwards, when all the paint was off, we got a fair bit of efflorescence, which we stopped using the Strippers of Sudbury neutraliser (basically vinegar) then getting some wax on asap.
Every beam had black, then white, then black, and some cases another white then black. Some had a scumble-glaze effect too (this was REALLY hard to get off).
