Forum BBQ Sunday 9th July in Bedfordshire

A lot of us have been on the forum for years but it's not often we meet each other in person. Who is up for a forum BBQ? Everyone is welcome members old and new. I'm thinking a lunchtime BBQ running into the afternoon so people can get here and back home within a day.

I'm in Blunham to the east of Bedford and train links to Sandy and Bedford are good. A1 road is very close by. There is historical building interest on site from 17C to present day. Also I can do a classic car show that would be especially interesting to anyone interested in old Renaults.

It would be good to meet some more members especially the ones I've been chatting with on a computer for the last 10 years.

It's not too late to alter the date. It would be good to meet you.

I'll move this thread into the main section in case some members only have that bookmarked. I know it's the start of linseed paint season but I'm flexible on dates and can fit in with everyone else. Or we can do something different. It would be good to have a meet up.

I will do my very best to be there, new business allowing! Date is OK for me at present, if you are to move it for others I definitely can't do the weekend afterwards, but the weekend before would be even better for me.

If we are sticking with July I can do 9th, 22nd, 23rd or 30th, but if the majority want to stick with 15th I won’t take offense

Unfortunately it's a bit far for us (plus Pip works on Saturdays these days and I don't drive ), but one day soon(ish) we're hoping to move back to the south east of England, so maybe next time!

Good point - it is drawing nearer so probably a good idea to start getting organised. I'll start up a private message group to chat about the details.

I was thinking about popping down to the local farm shop and buying the food. If people bring food there always ends up being too much. You can always pop a fiver into a conveniently placed jar.

Unfortunately, much as I would like to put faces to names/handles, I will not be able to attend but I hope that everyone has a good time. I'm not worried about a confrontation with the Shrewsbury Tiki Monster... honest!
