Facebook phishing scam

Unfortunately it's the user that is vulnerable to viruses, Win 95/98/XP/Vista, on the whole, on their own would all be fine, it's when users click on things that causes trouble. These days the things to click on are getting harder and harder to tell if they are true or false though, so meaning users really need to be a little more careful.

And I think I mustn't have been very careful. It was an email to me from someone on facebook, I opened it then went to what looked like a facebook log in. :roll: I logged in and nothing happened so I just left it and carried on doing other things. It was only when Biff replied in french saying he didn't understand :lol: and then Gervase emailed me to tell me, that I realised.

yep, one person not very careful, can lead to lots of people getting caught as you did.
The point I was making though was, as in most cases, it is not whether you are using Vista or Mac OSX that leaves you open to vulnerability.

A strange thing has hacked my facebook. A strange message has been sent to my facebook friends on here and it is not from me.

If it cheers you up Schoolmarm, you are not the only person to have got caught out. So did Michael Fabricant, Lichfield MP.
