Facebook phishing scam

A strange thing has hacked my facebook. A strange message has been sent to my facebook friends on here and it is not from me.

You have to not click on it and you must reset your password.


I think. Sorry but I didn't do anything to catch it and I don't know if a virus is on my computer now.

There is a good chance your machine has a nasty I am afraid. If your antivirus won't update, then increase this to definitely.

I ran my Avira Antivirus thingy and it seems ok but not sure what it would do if I had a virus anyway bit carp at computers :roll:

if you are running vista you might be ok , as far as i know vista is pretty bullet proof.
but then again what i know about computers could be written on the back of a stamp.

If you were a member on other forums I use you would see it is in common use. I don't like your attitude although I realise there is not much I can do about it.

I really did try to see if it was funny but couldn't find it. I think you are backpedalling.

Schoolmarm you would be well advised to download the free programme a-squared Free 4.5 and install it.
When you first run it you need to update it before you scan your machine. (use a full scan)
It is one of the better malware removers to use and has a good reputation.

Rogbil - I owuldn't put much faith in Vista - from my experience it is as carp* as every other Windows product and just as vulnerable to viruses, etc. It does seem to crash slightly less frequently - but the tradeoff for that is it runs like a geriatric labrador in wet concrete**.

I am going to ring son at uni later and see what is the best way to check if I have got a worm. I posted this thread because I thought it beter to warn people by other methods than facebook at this time.

I would love to just close the account but it has given me access to such great photographs of loads of people and little snippets of what they are up to.

It means I can see all the photographs of my 19 year old daughter on her nights out with her friends too :lol: and lets me see what all their former schoolfriends are up to.

AVG free virus.

lavasoft adaware

and spybot.

ive pretty much been lucky with my vista so far , its my crappy (its ok to say crappy isnt it or do i need to say carrpy?) hp lap top that keeps giving me problems.
i will never , ever buy a hp product again.

are you a mac man then? ive always fancied one of those paper thin mac note book thingys.
