Here’s what we ended up with. Pretty happy with this tbh. Finally ready to skim and paint.Sry I abandoned this. Been super busy. We’re back at it and we’ve decided to bulk out the low-spots in the wall along the bottom where the skirting board will attach with another coat of insulating plaster and then smooth it into the rest of plaster above. My wife wasn’t keen on the scribed top lid / “boxed in” approach nor the flat “molding” piece approach (as it needs to join to normal skirting board along all the other walls).
