I am saddened by this latest news.

Ev is a mine of information and a friend.

She has bluntly corrected me on occasion however whilst feeling snubbed I did have my facts wrong. I have to say I understand others have felt more bruised than this and I am not trying to undermine those peoples apparently fragile feelings. But so what I was wrong and stood corrected big deal

I would appeal to the Forum to re-consider their position, after all if Ev allegedly was "repeatedly disrespectful" that was before the temporary ban which is now a permanent one. I am sure lessons have been learnt to avoid reoccurance. I hope that this has been a shock tactic to underline the point rather than a permanent ban.

It seems that when creating a forum it really does become an online community through and through and well done to Rob and Simon for creating such a popular one shame about this poor treatment of Ev though.

It strikes me as an absurdly petty and rather vindictive act. And, in her position I don't think I'd want to come back under an assumed name. In fact, I'm not really sure I want to be here myself, if this is the way people are to be treated.
I do wonder about the shrinking violets who 'reported' her. This is the internet, for Pete's sake, not a convent. I had thought the level of discourse on this forum was generally rather superior to the average, but now that's clearly not to be tolerated for fear of frightening the ickle kiddley-winks as they clutch their Farrow & Ball colour cards and pore over Country Living.

It appears that we do not have a clue why she has been banned therefore only speculating. For all we know she may have let the moderators know what she thinks of them, or their site, in a way that only evelyn is able to " tell'em"

Some of her ( usually very informative) posts had a "bit of a spark" in them but nothing to create a fire ( untill some people started to extinguish it with a bucket of petrol).

Ouch! It is possible to like Farrow and Ball, Hunter wellies, Country Living still be on the side of old buildings, you know. Nuture the youth of today, they are the experts of tomorrow.

I had decided earlier today not to comment any further on this thread or matter, since it quickly descended into a series of personal attacks and that wasn't helpful to anyone.

However, I have already received today, 6 'silent' telephone calls at my home address. One of those calls was taken by my 8 year old son.

I'm not pointing the finger at any individuals, but I would request that this stops now. Even if most people would recognise that this is a step too far, their desire to 'whip up' sentiment is not helping.

The calls have been reported to BT and to the Police and they will be monitoring the situation.
