Their safety deposit boxes! Considerably cheaper and given that the HG Security Deposit shuts at sunset on Fridays (Shabbat etc) it's also more convenient. I was quite surprised to find that out.
In the end I gave all my coloured stones to a friend who has a shop and it goes in their safe when he's not trying to flog it. I just go in and pick the odd rock up when I need it for a client. I'm mainly a garnet specialist (one of the most incredible species of gems and in every colour except blue. The green tsavorites blow emeralds out of the water imo.) so not diamonds or super-expensive things, but would have been very annoying to lose them as some are very hard to find.
