Door maker needed in London/SE

Hi - can anybody recommend a place to have doors made to traditional styles? I need several doors for the basement of my house (c. 1800). The originals are pine with 4 panels.

Any links or suggestions of joiners to try would be very welcome.

We bought 7 Victorian 4 panel doors from ebay. They cost £480. We paid £260 carrier.

I spoke to Acorn and they recommend Tulipwood rather than pine as being more stable.

Does anybody have experience of this material?

Thanks Roger - I just called them and they seem like they might be perfect to strip and repair some of the exsiting doors I have - in order to comply with fire regs, I need to replace the panels with a fireproof board and they sem happy to take this on.

I do know a number of kitchen manufacturers use tulipwood rather than pine, so there must be a reason.

We had a door made in Douglas Fir as the joiner felt it more stable. However, whatever you get, best to keep in in the room it's going to be fitted in for several months to allow for shrinkage! Our door, which was a perfect fit, has now shrunk considerably and isn't as good a fit as it was...
