Yes, there are several with a greyish white marble - in the rear ground and rear first floor and where we had to replace the hearth in the kitchen, thats what we used.
The 2nd floor bedroom has a quite ornate surround, which seems too grand for the room so I imagine its been moved or is not original, and that has an an orange-ish stone
You might be right though that the one we have removed was grey white - its very hard to tell but the cross section is certainly white. Perhaps I'll try cleaning up a fragment.
Not that grand a house - perhaps just typical of some London terraces of the period - a few fancy bits at the front to make your neighbours jealous. Queen Anne front, Mary Anne behind, as my grandmother would say.

Anyway - in each case uncovered so far (three of eight), the front secondary hearth stone only goes back to a line parallel with the line of the wall. Behind that is the main fire-bearing hearth.
