Disruption to my period home with Installation of new boiler

The fitter advised me that all domestic condenser boilers require a 28mm gas connection, something to do with them requiring more gas on start up compared with the old combi boilers. I would like to know if this is true.

While I can understand the need for larger piping if the run is long this type of nonsense comment does not inspire confidence.
If anything, older boilers used more gas.

I used to practice casting to a hat in a suitable field - use a fairly large fly (e.g. mayfly) and snip off the hook to avoid it catching everywhere (and, incidentally, always wear glasses when flycasting!).

Do not practise in a field with available water, unless you have a licence to fish.
My Dad was teaching me the basics of sea fishing and we were practising casting, so I had a large lead weight and no hook and my target was to hit the stream which flowed around one side of the camp site.
Yep a water bailiff came along and they did my Dad, a Welshman banned from fishing any Welsh water for life for teaching his son to beachcast with a 12' beachcaster, 20lb line, a 2oz weight and no hook!!!!!!!!

My dear old Dad once tried to teach my son (aged about 10 at the time) to flyfish. The only thing that son managed to hook was a duck.

Sadly, that's proved to be very true for the past few years. I may have to follow Penners Jr's lead and try casting for ducks, we've got plenty of them here. Come to think of it, the first hatch of the season (Easter Weekend) yielded 15 ducklings but they are now down to just three - I may have been beaten to it!
