Courtesy of eBay, we have a near-new Ebac 2650. After less than a day, it has already pulled the rh in the cellar down from 73% to a never-seen 61%.
As the cellar is doorless to the kitchen which is similarly doorless to the dining room, etc, it is presumably influencing the rh in the whole house, although that is also helped by the two woodburners. Even so, when the house reached its midwinter 45% last year, the cellar was always in the 70s.
And it's quiet, at least on the min setting. As commented, one is aware of it only when it switches off.
