Good evening from Suffolk
I have recently retired and moved in to a Tudor timber framed house (Jan 2021) and am starting to regret it. There are signs of historic woodwork & Death Watch Beetle (DWB) . After fumigating upstairs for carpet beetles, I found two dead DWBs, now how common is this in timber framed houses what should I do next? In the first instance I will have to get loft access for my T-shaped loft, as nobody will want to squeeze past a chimney breast to gain access to the main part. I presume that I will need to get a timber survey and am not sure who to use - I would normally obtain three quotes. This was not picked up on our full structural survey! Any advice would be much appreciated.
Regards
Martin
