Just for Lord's sake no one start a General Election thread. That got quite confrontational last time, that one I do remember!

I don't know what I want. I'm struggling though to get present for others. Where does one find thermal long-johns for a giraffe?

Would they be thermal very-long johns? Tricky - not much call for them out on the savannah I suspect.

There's lots of little fiddly craft things that I do that I thought it might be handy for as well as proper house stuff. Quite fancy building our daughter a dolls house version of the new house... is that v tacky? :?

I'm a gemmologist by trade and there are so many bits of kit that come at various price-points. With some the cheapy is just as good if not better than the expensive ones, others you will end up buying the expensive one in the end so you may as well fork out at the beginning.

I read a load of reviews and there seemed to be as many fans as dissenters. In the end I went with the dremel as it makes it handy for people to buy me extra bits and pieces.

And dear husband kindly obliged and sent off the order to Los Angeles for the sparkly things I had in mind, but now this order seems to be just being ignored. I received confirmation if the order, emailed with a sales rep to clarify that they would post to the UK, which they said they would, but now just deathly silence. At least they haven't taken the money. Maybe there's a supply issue?

I have my eye on a boxed set of Haydn's complete string quartets - 29 CDs in all I think. My taste in music has evolved from German late Romanticism (as a teenager I was heavily into Wagner) to baroque and early classical. Haydn was a genius - such elegance, inventiveness and wit. One can never tire of it.
