Nothing quite so exotic for me.

I've just bought myself an AEG induction cooker.

I originally bought a Belling induction cooker a month ago but discovered that EU regulation had somehow thwarted my ambitions.
The original maximum specification for the Belling induction hob has been reduced from 3.7 kWh to a mere 2 kWh on boost and it has also lost one of its grills.

I was told by the saleperson who is dealing with its return that the new cooker is more efficient in its use of electricity.
Huh! ???

Using that logic if the cooker had no rings, no grills and no ovens I suppose it would be 100% more efficient?

Perhaps the 'efficiency' improvements are a result of people giving up waiting for them to do their job and so less electricity is used - not exactly an increased 'efficiency' but certainly less consumption :lol:

I wouldn't push too much for the Dremel. I have one, and personally I'd say they are over-rated. Useful occasionally but for what I use it for a cheap copy would do just as well, genuine Dremels are pricey. Oscillating multi-tools are much more useful I've found - Fein Multimaster being the original but it's ridiculously expensive, there are now loads of copies out there, some cheap and nasty, some fairly cheap but cheerful.

Of course this is a cue to someone to say that their Dremel is the best thing since sliced bread and they wouldn't be without it! :wink:

I think I might be on the side of the EU here - the vacuum motor size limit is apparently somewhere way above 1000W. We, in common with a number of others on here, use a Henry and find it [him?] perfectly adequate - ours is 800W.
