Finally...
The downpipe/drainage was fixed the second week in Jan! By a third builder after the original and then a second were ditched for never showing up.
The downpipe was completely blocked and had cracked further literally chucking water on the poor walls. It had never been given another room to drain at the bottom apparently. Also at the very top of the building there was something wrong with the hopper (whatever that is) so it was coming down from there too. But it's all fixed now and the brick work has been repointed too. (probably with not the right mortar...but never mind.)
A decorator came today to look at the walls in the kitchen and bedroom but said they were still too wet to paint - he wants to do a stain block first. I have dehumidifiers on but am longing for it all to be sorted. Here's hoping...
I can't believe the landlord left it so long. (problem first reported in July.)
