Hi
I'm totally new to this and am feeling very ignorant.
I have a cellar that I'm trying to convert so that it can be used as a living room. At some point in the past it's been plastered and the floor has been concreted over. Underneath the concrete floor is the original brick and the little bit I've seen looks lovely.
The specialist I talked to suggested removing the existing concrete and tanking the cellar but this would leave me with something of a featurless box and I would love to be able to keep the original floor.
Is there any alternative to the tanking system? i've not found much else online - that is probably becuase I'm looking for the wrong thig. Or is it possible to lift the floor and put the tanking beneath it?
Thanks for any help and suggestions.
Parker.
