You may have to hang the curtains in front of the opened shutters--which is a shame, and means that you have to close the shutters, then close the curtains, double the work each night, so you definitely need a Tweeny to help with all the chores!

Hmm, I'm coming to the conclusion Tweeneys are more trouble than they're worth. The only thing that's stopping me from saying goodbye to the non cleaning cleaner is the thought that it's unfair to do it so close to Christmas.

On a more cheery note, I finished this curtain today which has warmed up the kitchen considerably!

(Chris just said no to the ribbons though - and it's just nailed up for now, hence a bit wonky)

Still struggling with just an iPhone for all my camera, posting, etc - though if I can figure out how to turn the TV into a computer ( I know it is one, secretly) things will improve.

I got a set of very good quality crewel-work curtains second-hand that exactly suit and fit one of our rooms, and they cost £50 rather than the £600 or so pounds I suspect they originally cost.

I suspect that Mister Chris has bought a nice big flat screen TV which a PC base station can be plugged into; I suspect it is a very likely a media pc box that is sitting under the TV just now.

Joce is designing a gingham cover to wrap around it (or is scooping out its innards so the chooks can sleep in the case)

Thanks for the interest though - and FW is right. It's a new fangled contraption that plays music, the television, DVDs, and the Internet all on the same screen. There is a remote control, for which I understand about 5% of the buttons, and a wireless keyboard with a hard to control wandering mouse.

I suppose I'll get there eventually.

Yes please! What do you think the structural components are made of? Wood? Plaster? Stone?

It's a very good suggestion MrsT; I love Ebay. Some of the windows would require 3 very large matching curtains but you never know quite what you'll find.
