just had planning and building control approval and am having a wc directly off a kitchen/family room. I asked my architects about this regulation, he said 'that is old', dont worry about it,

Bother, I was going to have a shower/room with toilet in the back of the scullery but thought of the 2 doors rule and had a rethink - now it looks as though I would have been OK so perhaps back to the drawing board tonight.

A drain query though ---

I don't have a inspection trap thingy in the back yard , only a small victorian "rodding hole"(?) - in the 4ins thick concrete.
If I return to the downstairs facilities plan, would I be able to have a masticator type loo conecting to my old drains without the need for a modern inspection pit? Or would I have to have half the yard up to put new drains in - which would of course leave modern concrete rather than all reddish, cracked, victorian concrete...
If I had to have the yard up I would go for a normal loo.
Then there is the foul waste vent pipe, would the current one do etc etc ... oh, bother! Why didn't you say that the 2 doors rule still rules !!!!
