I would hope no-one, but I'm sure that in years to come someone removing skirting boards in my kid's bedrooms will find the odd brick or two!
My kids have a really quite impressive collection of early 1970's Lego, which had of course once been mine and in turn my little sister's. My father working for a Danish company always helped 8). My old "Technical Lego" is still in storage, awaiting the Feltwell Juniors growing up a bit more. Once my kids have finished with it, it will be consigned to storage for the next generation. I don't think it will ever really date - the basic concept is timeless.
My mother-in-law has a box of 1950's Meccano stored away, that was my father-in-law's. Their kids played a bit with it, but it seems to have lost it's appeal with the next generation.
