Enjoyed the link! Unfortunately the bee boles I knew as a kid were demolished in the 80s (they are on the list though, so at least they were recorded). There are some on the list that I must check out to see if they are still in existence. Amazing to find that there is a web site with all this info on it!

That's really spooky - I was looking just this afternoon at my pics taken last summer of Benthall Hall!

I wonder how many people have odd nooks and crannies in garden walls and haven't realised what they are?

I'll have to google that....

But this weekend is planting 100 or so trees down the edge of the field, I'm too late for hedging, so that's going to wait until October when The Forest of Mercia guys are going to come and plant it. Then I intend to plant some native wild flowers along teh margins between hedge and trees and sit and enjoy it all in a couple of years or so.

In WH Davies case it was stand and stare - although as he had a wooden leg he might have been more comfortable sitting I admit.
