Could have been Screwfix: https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-led-floodlight-10w-black-daylight/604cc
I used to work for the company that produces those, through 3rd party manufacturing in China. This was well before the days of LED lighting but shall we just say their quality standards were middling - not unsafe, but not the best. I actually have one on the end of my garage but it's to light up a corner of the garden, is on a switch rather than a PIR sensor and is rarely used.
The posh Steinel one I forked out for is on a sensor that comes on whenever you step out of my back door, so switches on and off quite a lot, hence why wanting a better quality one. I've had other items from Steinel and although expensive they do seem to be good quality and long lasting. My "front" door is actually on the side of the house, I've got 2 PIR sensors both linked to the same lights so that if you walk up the drive or out of the door the lights come on. Cheap sensors from Screwfix were only lasting a year or two, I replaced them with Steinel ones about 8 years ago now and no problems - well, apart from a scaffolder whacking one with a tube  - managed to fix it though.
