Back from Black beams

We did try Klingstrip on our beam (we only had one original beam left in the room) but it didn't have much effect as the previous owners had painted it with garden fence stain. As it was oak, it was also very cracked and was really difficult to get the Klingstrip out of the cracks, it was so much easier to use Nitromors and fine wire wool. We wouldn't have considered having it sandblasted as it might have damaged the surface of the wood.
