Thanks again for the nice welcome back words folks .
I tell you what, whilst in hospital ( in England ) I was well looked after by all the hospital staff and had plenty of time to reflect on life in general and reaffirmed my thoughts that whilst there are some a**e holes of human beings around the majority are quite caring a sympathetic and there to help if asked. Thanks again to all of you at PPUK. For the first time in my life I felt that payment to the National Insurance for 47 years was well worth it !.
Also, whilst in hospital I never lost my sense of humour ( thank god for that !! ) , it was in hospital that I had one of the most ironical and sarcastic laughs. One night, about 11.30 pm myself and the patient next to me were having a conversation ( putting the world to right and all that......) when all of a sudden we heard ..." crash.. bang ,,, wallop" and a thud , a lonely zimmer frame with wheels shot past our beds in the open corridor .One of the patients was trying to make their way to the toilet but somehow collided with the drinks trolley outside the kitchen and between the patient the glasses and other crockery it was only the zimmer frame that made it without injury. I know we shouldn't have laughed but we could not help it , also we were bed ridden and the best we could do was to use the buzzer by our beds to call for nurses. ( there was a lady flat on the floor and one of the nurses first words were " s**t, look at the state of the crockery" . We were taken back by her immediate expression initially but just burst into another laughter soon after. Saw the lady the day after and all she had was a black nose.
I hope to be back to Normal ( if there is such a thing !!) in about 3 weeks , 7 weeks or so without any movement it left my legs without any muscles and did not respond to my brain instruction. They are getting better every day though.
