Hi to all of you at PPUK, many thanks for all the good wishes received .
Hopefully I will continue to " poke my nose" in your period dwellings problems

( for all those of you that wondered why I disappeared from the site the excuse was that a suffered a stroke whilst on holiday in the cayman islands. After a private lear jet transfer to Miami, an operation to my head to rectfy a blood " leak" and 6 weeks in an induced coma I was transferred back to the cayman and, still in coma, back to broomfield (in another private lear jet) hospital Chelmsford . Thank GOD I don.t remember none of it and. I came home from hospital yesterday and well on the mend . ps:- thanks for insurance cover, the bill to the insurance co. ( are you all sitting down !!!!!) which my wife signed was 1.17 million pounds. There is definitely more money to be made in neurosurgery than restoring dilapidated properties , a lesson to you all that have young springs and stiil at school)

Great to hear that you're on the mend Middi, you must be relieved to be back at home. The travel insurance was clearly well worth the money then - whatever it cost you it sounds like you got a bargain!

Penners , my insurance co also thought the US hospital was taking the piddle because they were reluctant to pay and asked for a full breakdown of the expenses. Eventually they backed down and paid.
I also must admit that when my wife told me I said -- "WHAT"!!!!!!----- , she then showed me a copy.

( and immediately put her on the spot by asking if she would have let me die if we had no insurance . Se said NO I wouldn't, bless her )
