Fixed that for you. Brought up on Imperial, but recognise that Metric is a far better system.

88v8 said:*^Perhaps your Series III (1976?) has one you could 'borrow'.

a twig said:I stepped outside however and noticed smoke coming out of both chimney pots. What I suspect therefore is that when the mason rebuilt my stack and made repairs to the flue (at considerable expense I may add) - he neglected to rebuild the central "divider". Initial torch assisted peering seems to confirm this.

Feltwell said:Land Rover Series 3 I reckon. Year? That's tricky - any time from the early 70's to the mid 80's. I'll guess at 1978.
Do I get any bonus points for being a smart arse, or just shot down in flames for trying to be to clever?
a twig said:Close, unfortunately my 1973 series III is my daily drive so needs to keep his bonnet
The one in the picture was actually a little unfair, its a "deluxe rolled bonnet" from a 1971 Series 2A (one of the very last 2As) - it does look very similar to what became the standard SIII bonnet - it's the hinges that give it away. Sadly the rest of the vehicle is mouldering under an apple tree in my parents garden, waiting for me to finish the house, and buy a lock up, get a new chassis and bulkhead and find a suitably stupid engine to put in it...
a twig said:Unfortunately Feltwell - right on make only, and minus smart arse points as I had already posted the answer up two weeks ago!
