Chris - What are your views on the redevelopment? Given that Arsenal had decided to move to a new stadium (largely because local residents opposed any expansion of Higbury), I believe the current design/use is perhaps the best possible outcome. ie. Sustainable, but with the period buildings maintained.

And as you point out, there is clearly a lot of effort going into protecting the East stand during works

Being involved in many aspects of both projects (the new Stadium and Highbury Square) I have had to deal with many of the issues you mentioned but here is not the place to discuss (I hope you can understand this). But I will PM you if you want on these matters.

However, had they opted for a Nuclear plant, i'm sure Greenpeace and FoE would still have opposed on different grounds. Unfortunately they don't seem to understand the meaning of compromise

Our ultimate salvation lies in that great nuclear reactor in the sky. After all, it's the only real source of energy we have access to and that's where all our R&D efforts should be focused before we run out of the easy 'kick-starting' fossil fuel (= stored solar energy) in the ground. Let's hope we muddle through somehow.
