Some nice looking stone there Joce. Do you have any knowledge on the composite from the battlements, I wonder how old it could be? I found 2 types of composite on my house so far. Both are pretty old looking and very tough. I figure it won't be too big a risk to repair these areas using cement.
And Phil, I returned yesterday to find your very kind donation of 'The Old House Handbook'. Please PM me your address as the least I can do is reimburse the postage. The book was well recommended by you both. It has a very direct approach and has answered a lot of my questions on using lime and brick repairs, I might even be putting my 1st order in for lime putty soon.

ahhh, glad you liked it, the father-in-law (Dave) illustrates a Christmas card every year and most friends frame them.
