I have no problem with the name as shown, it wouldn't make me more likely to buy your product but then it wouldn't make it any less likely either.castiron said:Do you think there is a place for advertising on period building products were (like many of our vents and air bricks) the company name forms a clear and distinct part of the design?
and if so, do you think the company name present would sell more or less of the product? regards Adrian
In so many cases I've found myself scratching my head trying to get a matching "thing" to deal with my house renovation. If the previous owner had used something with a company name on it you can usually track down a matching replacement with time and care. If the item is unmarked then you're on your own.
I would also welcome anything that adds dating evidence to "period style" items. I'd like a 21C airbrick to look the part and be in keeping with the house but I'd also like to be able to clearly identify it as a recent addition.
I've puzzled about repairing/replacing bits of internal woodwork here then discovered when I've had to remove similar stuff elsewhere the barcode sticker on the back. My favourite being the painted panelling in the library. When we fitted the underfloor heating and removed the radiator we discovered a dirty great hole where the panelling had been cut out. Then we discovered the original skirting behind it and realised the panels were all of 15 years old
