indeed, and a ton of effort to go to… strangely, this is the second home we’ve had with them. Our previous cottage, somewhere either side of 1600, original similar sized oak boards in the parlour, varying widths, but all lapped.. It's quite rare to have lapped boards they were mostly straight edged but I have seen it.
All the oak boards in this place are lapped, front and rear, 1st and 2nd floors.
The doors added when it became a dwelling are also lapped boards.
