Very snazzy bath style Moo. Would definitely go for proper tiles--- your nearest B & Q had a really good range to choose from (when we lived up your way).

We spent 8k having our little London bathroom fitted - I do think we were terribly ripped off now ( though that did involve a full replaster and travertine slabs) - there are some fantastic products on that site for not much money. It will appeal to the buyer, that's certain.

Most of our stuff came from these people - they told me that a lot of their catalogue is the same as Bathstore (he suggested we have a look in their showroom
) so I suspect plenty of other people use the same manufacturers too - the stuff we got was not branded but is OK. Delivered direct from the manufacturer on trucks.

The Bathroom Warehouse on the Rackheath Industrial estate affectionately known as "Dodgy Tony" to my plumbers and builders also do a very good line in more or less everything branded but some of their stuff is repackaged returns so you need to be aware of that. In practice they were usually cheaper than online for branded taps, shower trays etc. it looks like an explosion in a plumbers merchant but they can get more or less anything in a couple of days!
Finally I bought Hudson Reed Topaz taps online and Tony which were very decent quality and reasonably priced.

Since I last posted I've done my sums and been on-line researching both VP and Bathstore, in the course of which I came across those Complaints sites where people go to sound off about things.
Amongst all the angry spluttering there was one nugget of information that sent me back to the VP website and finally tipped the scales in favour of the (considerably more expensive) Bathstore option:
The shower screen that comes with the VP shower-bath is fixed, which means that you have to reach round it to turn the taps/shower on. The woman who raised this point said that she has to get right into the bath because her arms won't reach round the screen.
Whereas this is the Bathstore description of their screen:
Unlike other L shaped bath screens, the ShowerCube bath screen can be rotated in and out of the bath. This means you can access the taps without entering the bath, which stops you getting your feet wet!
The ShowerCube L shaped bath screen incorporates a ‘rise and fall’ hinge mechanism. This mechanism allows the screen to fit neatly on the bath’s contours, reducing any damage caused by the screen snagging on the bath while still providing an effective barrier for any excess water.
The glass screen can be adjusted from within the frame so that it sits correctly against the bath, even if the bath and adjoining wall don’t meet at a perfect right angle. This can be achieved by angling the glass within the frame’s recess so that the glass is situated appropriately.
Which sounds very confidence-inspiring. So, although I don't want to spend more than I have to, I feel a sort of moral duty not to saddle a first-time-buyer with something that will turn out to be rubbish.
