Yes, nowt changes really - although much of what may have been regarded in the past we now regard as treasure.

I hate going out in daylight now. I have to pass the II* listed barn which should be Black Tack thatch and now has a swathe of reed sticking out all done the front, a carefully pegged-down ridge of blue plastic.

Don't be fooled by the furniture. It was shipped in by a team of set dressers to show the house 'as it might look' because, like most such projects, the real stuff is in storage. Then, just as promptly, it was loaded back onto a removal van and taken back to London.
They did the same thing to our place for the final shoot, and were a bit miffed when the mother-in-law tried to half-inch a rather nice mirror!

and there was I thinking that their taste had improved no end from the leopardskin prints on view earlier in the prog.

I rather suspect that that was the reason why the interior was done before the pointing was carried out - either that or weather - I suppose the building could be shown dressed up with furniture, house a warming party and be partly lived in while the exterior was completed. bet it was very damp though! It will take a long time to dry out. I did note the cracked lintel still propped up...

So we can't rubbish your taste in interior decor, then? No cat clawed sofa and seats with the horsehair hanging out either?
