Extrapolate this to the universe as a whole and it's a dead cert that there's other life out there.
The point which I assumed behind my post, and which may possibly have been missed, is that there is no evidence at all that we're here. Some propose that we are all nothing but one imagination, just a dream, and there really is no evidence either way. Statistics can lead one to some very odd conclusions. And that tells us something about either statistics or our perceptions of the world.
