Well, I'm in between Derby and Nottingham. I saw reviews and YouTube and stuff, and limelite bond, renovation plaster and high-impact finish all seems really good and simple enough to follow. It's just confused by different manufacturers' stuff. I can't believe it's hard to get these in I was gonna get these just one bag each to do one wall half-wall section.
Then use nhl 3.5 for laying some quarry tiles and do an area under my fridge so it not just resting on the damp earth.
Then take some old wood decorative panels off the wall and put new ones in to cover half of another wall.
It's one of those jobs where you need random areas completed and fixed before painting it.
I'm a bit annoyed.
Basically got the mortgage for this house in the early 2005s in my early 20s and only one could afford (northern rock mortgage so screwed from the start) and didn't have any knowledge of different types of stuff for the house. Then I started to know defects.
my family randomly helped me later on with my kitchen and since it's family and also coz it's not their home, so they don't have to live in it and see it everyday and they were wanting to get it over with. It was not a good result.
The kitchen was bad b4 and when the family did the kitchen by installing new units and stuff. That was fine. But the walls tiled are not great, but I'm going to leave them.
the worst thing was that the floor that got put down was by a joiner who basically only helped coz he
Was new to the family and wanted to impress my parent (lol).
My family took the floor up (didn't give me time to take the self-level compound up, like only a few hours, I also never knew about what was hidden underneath them or the knowledge) and covered the uneven floor with green underlay material. and then the laminate floor, he was saying when doing it this floor is sponge-like so it will be comfortable to walk on, rest of my house has a laminate floor which has lasted longer and is strong to walk on (well until recently). Just within 2 weeks it started to come up then over a long time I basically left the floor like it. I've been in the house for over 15 years and only just started to learn about old houses.
My kitchen had a burst pipe in 2021 and had to take up the floor and found all mould. Then chipped a way through the compound which took days to find quarry tiles and then found out.more info about them.
I've not done the house up over the years coz of money and I had a car accident over a decade ago so it has been a very long recovery etc.
Sorry for all the info, it's all random but sometimes some people might read this and relate to it. Also never get family to help.
