Period property - any interesting finds?

During surveys by James Wright (buildings archeologist) on my house and the nearby "Fox" public house this cat was found in the pub roof.

No, I'd say it's looking dead.

Why is it thought to be 'ritually concealed'? I've opened up a few fireplaces and each time there have been bird skeletons in them, which I've always assume was simple misadventure. When ill, animals sometimes hide themselves away to die peacefully - could that be the case with this cat?

Our electricians found a bread oven our place used to be a pub so there’s endless broken pieces of clay pipe in the garden when digging in the back. We did actually find money in the walls - albeit a sixpence, sadly won’t cover the work needed haha.
