Hi all,
I need some advise on lime plastering, I’ve had a good amount of practise with bonding and easy fill etc. Never used multi finish as I believe it’s something that should be left to the professionals! I’ve got a lot of chases and patches that need filling where I would normally just grab a bag of bonding and then call the plasterer to skim over the whole lot! I’ve spoke to a lot and I mean a lot of plasterers some claim to be lime specialist however they all vary in opinion. Some are saying you can skim all ceilings with multi finish and if you haven’t got any damp problems just PVA and skim walls. The response I keep getting when I say I want to keep all the walls breathable is ‘well if you want to go down that route your talking thousands’ and they seem to loose all interest.
I’ve researched online and seems there is premixed bags or mix up your own. Some are using NHL others lime putty?!
Seems very complicated, can someone please give us a simple approach where I can ‘bond out’ patches and then have a Plasterer just do a top coat of what I can specify.
Thanks in advance.
