I've looked as best I can on the forums and can't find someone who has asked this question...
We have an early 1800s stone cottage with painted stone walls. Some what of a mongrel as part is some sort of acrylic paint over cement mortar and other is a limewash over lime mortar. We want to lime plaster the walls in both sections. I'm assuming we'll need to remove the acrylic paint as we'll want to remove the cement beneath but do we need to remove the limewash too? It would save us a lot of time if we don't have to do both sections!
Many thanks
