Anyone know what this type of coal fire is called? It's in our entrance hall.
And how it would be used? The circular lid at the top opens up to a chamber that leads down to the grill at the bottom; would the coal be put in there? At the bottom of the grill is a hinged floor part, which can tip down into the ash tray. In the picture it's hanging down into the ash tray already, as I'm not yet worked out how the mechanism works to keep it in place horizontally.
A flue pipe exits horizontally at the back and into the chimney stack.
