I've just started stripping the blown vinyl wall paper from the hallway of my 1880 townhouse. The plaster underneath looks to be in pretty good condition, except for the usual picture hook holes and channels for re-wiring etc.
The plaster looks to be a powder blue colour on the surface, but white when you dig down. It seems to be very hard (i.e. bullet proof!) in terms of consistency. Is this lime plaster or something else?
I want to just paint the surface if I can get the holes filled well enough and I can get an even enough surface. Any advice as to what product to use for filling etc.
As for Paint, I would like to undercoat and topcoat with Farrow and Ball estate emulsion as I really like this paint.
Any advice?
Stuart
