YAY!! My Oak floor has arrived.....at last!!!

After waiting since January, my oak floor is finally here! 11" boards, square edged, just what I wanted. Just need to leave them a couple of weeks now then I can get around to moving the sterling board out and the oak in

I never, ever thought we'd get to the stage we're at now but I'm bloomin' glad we have!!

It will be far too grand to actually live in though - you'll be staying in the 'van and charging admission for tours of the house!

:lol: :lol: :lol: You could be right!! It's going to be a strange feeling when it's ready to live in. I've grown very attached to the van - cosy living, not much housework and the feeling of being outside even when I'm inside. The house is going to seem very large with it's big rooms, high ceilings and beautiful stone and oak features. One thing I know for certain though is that anyone from this forum will be more than welcome to come and have a nosy

I've grown very attached to the van - cosy living, not much housework and the feeling of being outside even when I'm inside.

We lived in a 30ft caravan for four years with two young children, a dog and two guinea-pigs, while we renovated a cottage. When we finally moved out of the van into the house, our daughter (about 7 at the time) cried at seeing the van disappear up the road on the back of a lorry.

The oak floor will seem a huge leap forward, Jaqy - a wonderful feeling. Just don't go letting people walk on it!
