My architect has proposed, as part of the maintenance of the house’s wooden structure, to treat the wood chemically against woodworm. Although there are holes in exposed wood I’ve seen, this sounds like a preemptive measure rather that treatment of an active infestation. Searching for more information, I’ve found this is not always recommended. Wondering if there is another way to protect the wood other than incecticides?
