Is there an effective way of dealing with woodlice?
OK, they're cute and do no harm to anybody.
Even so, they are not welcome here, thank you very much. Any ideas please?

collect a few woodlice spiders! soon be delt with....
be carefull though, they are the only UK species that can get through human skin like butter (powerfull jaws to go through the woodlice armour!)

Yes, some of those Ant Powders kill "Ants and Other crawling insects".

I use some cheap Asda stuff, seems to do the job....Woodlouse stew anyone?

Why is it that some people think that anything alive near their house needs to be killed? Flame throwers and ant poison for woodlice, disinfectants for moss. Surely the only justification for can be for food, hence the woodlice recipes. Moss is not a common food (except for reindeer that eat reindeer moss, which is actually a lichen) but the value of Lythian moss, commonly known as lythieloop, a native of Northern Sarvonia, is exaulted in song:

Morning dances like a lass,
Wake, my little lambs.
Afternoon upon the grass,
Eat, my little lambs.

Ath’ho there in time of need,

And the woodlice IN the house are a real pain, they squish on the bottom of feet and socks.

I agree, they are cute and do no harm to anybody, so how about trying what I do? We get them in our rather damp bathroom every morning, so I pick 'em up and move them. Takes two seconds, and they don't bite or wee on me (Well, never have yet but a ladybird did once and as you can tell, am still smarting about that incident!)
At least that way they are safe from being squashed accidentally and you are happy in the knowledge you are protecting even the smallest of our wildlife and not killing things for no good reason.
If you can't bear to pick them up by hand, they are almost always happy to climb on board a bit of tissue or card. Please don't kill them if at all possible. Good luck!
