Wooden rain bar (rain excluder)

I know it's a piddling problem, and apologies if it's been discussed before, but I need to find wooden rain bars for my external doors. The originals are pretty much shot. All I can find is nasty aluminium rain excluders. I've bought and fitted wooden ones in the last 5 years, but now I can't find a supplier anywhere.

Do you mean the part which you step over, or the bit at the bottomof the door?

The bit that you fix to the outside/bottom of the actual door - not the cill (the base part of the door frame, the bit you step over). I know some people don't have them, but most of my doors did (and need them). I just can't find wooden ones anywhere.

Bet the one in Cockermouth has one.

I got a couple from B&$ when I was doing up my old house. It was cheap nasty wood though and doubt it would have lasted that long.

Maybe it's time for Biff to manufacture lovely designer ones in oak...

You should be able to find this moulding in any decent timber or builders merchants. Make sure it's got the drip groove in the bottom face.

Of course there's wooden rain. It's what stair-rods are made out of.

Maybe thats what we got in the place with the tin roof. Sounded like it anyway.

At least the rain is real wood - not Ikea rain, made of MDF or chipboard.

And of course we're aiming for nice blacksmith-forged iron rain - not that nasty aluminium stuff. 8)

I found the rain bars in B&Q. They are 33in wide and made of lightweight rainforest. :? I'll check out a decent timberyard. Thanks for the help.

Apparently the worst kind of rain is lead rain. Due to the density it comes down dangerously fast. Some countries have a lot of trouble with it apparently.
